Completed in 1925, the Griest Building is one of Lancaster’s most iconic historic landmarks and was the city’s first skyscraper. Rising prominently above Penn Square, the building quickly became a symbol of Lancaster’s growth, innovation, and architectural ambition during the early 20th century.
Designed in the Beaux-Arts architectural style, the Griest Building features timeless proportions, classical detailing, and a strong vertical presence that continues to define Lancaster’s skyline today. Set at the top of Lancaster’s first skyscraper, the Observation Deck provides a distinctive, intimate space defined by its unmatched panoramic views. It’s a setting designed for smaller gatherings that leave a lasting impression. The space is ideal for:

For wedding ceremonies: 1 hour rehearsal the day prior, to be scheduled in advance
*This booking permits 4 total hours on the property - encompassing setup, event, and strike time. All events must end by 10:00PM with strike/cleanup completed by 11:00PM.

The Griest Building Observation Deck
Payment & Rental Terms
Half of the package price is due at the time of booking.
Remaining balance and $1,000 security deposit are required one month prior to the event date.
Additional hours may be booked at $500 per hour.
Important Notes
Rates may change at any time.
Availability may be limited due to property refurbishments or community offerings.
Noise levels must remain below 75 dB and music must end by 10 PM.
No smoking is permitted on the property.
